Belgian federal prosecutor Frederic Van Leeuw pictured during a press conference of the Federal Prosecutor's Office, Foreign Affairs, the Federal Police and Defense, concerning the repatriation of Belgian IS women and children, in Brussels, Tuesday 21 June 2022. Last night, Belgium again repatriated Belgian IS women and children from camps in Syria. The children are all under 12 years old. Last month it was announced that Belgium had organized a new consular mission to Syria. A Belgian investigative team went to the Roj camp, where a number of Belgian mothers who could be associated with the Islamic State terrorist group and their children were housed. The six women go straight to prison for their ties to IS. The sixteen children, who are all younger than 12 years old, are cared for by the Youth Public Prosecutor's Office. BELGA PHOTO NOE ZIMMER
